About Federico
Federico Feldstein is the executive producer and host of Agenda Hispana. Originally from Argentina, Federico was born and raised in Buenos Aires. After graduation from the Law School at The University of Buenos Aires, Federico traveled to Athens, Georgia, home of UGA, where he decided to study a Master’s in Journalism and Mass Communications. Since his arrival in the United States, Federico observed, and personally experienced, some of the difficulties that a Spanish-speaking immigrant has to face. He developed such an interest in the area, that upon finishing his Master’s degree in 2001, he went to Washington D.C. to work in public relations with organizations targeting the Hispanic community. Federico worked with different organizations, assisting them in their attempts to reach Latinos around the country.
In 2003, Federico started working for CNN in Spanish, a branch of CNN that reaches most countries in Latin America. By the end of 2003, he decided that it was necessary to address the challenges that Hispanic immigrants, and Latinos in general, encounter on a daily basis in the United States. It was then that Agenda Hispana was born. Agenda Hispana aired for the first time on January 2004 at WUGA, the Georgia Public Radio affiliate at the University of Georgia.
Agenda Hispana was an instant hit with its audience; however, Federico also realized that gaining private support for a program that provides a community service was not going to be an easy task. In 2005, and with the support of WUGA and GPB, among others, Agenda Hispana started to be broadcast throughout the GPB radio network, reaching the whole state of Georgia.
Agenda Hispana keeps growing by creating a bridge between the private and public sector and communities around the state. Federico is now working to create more opportunities for communities to come together and have a better understanding of each other.
