Georgia is leading the nation in the increase of Women owned businesses

The American Express Corporation has released a report showing that over the last 16 years Georgia leads the nation in the increase in the number of businesses owned by women.

Since 1997 businesses owned by women across the United States has jumped 59%. However, in Georgia that figure is up 112%.

Education services are the business with the greatest increase for women ownership, up 113% over the last 11 years.

Women owned businesses in Georgia employ over 237,000 people with an economic impact of $44 billion in revenues.
