A new Great Dane Trucking Innovation Center has a target completion date of January 2015.

Great Dane Trailers is building an Innovation Center in Savannah.

The new high-tech campus will include a 75,000-square-foot, three-story corporate office building, an adjacent 28,000-square-foot research and development facility and a separate 6,500-square-foot building to house Great Dane’s one-of-a-kind full-scale road simulator.

"Great Dane's history in Southeast Georgia dates back to around the turn of the 20th century, when we were originally known as the Savannah Blow Pipe Company.” CEO Bill Crown said in a press release. “Today, we celebrate these accomplishments by breaking ground on a new Engineering and Technology Campus here in Savannah that will benefit not only our customers but also our employees and the environment."

The company builds a wide range of dry vans, refrigerated vans and platform trailers with eight manufacturing plants located in the U.S.
