The University of Georgia is attracting and retaining top faculty to continue to provide top notch education.

The University of Georgia is hiring sixteen new faculty positions. The faculty hirings have been created through a $2.2 million interdisciplinary hiring initiative with the goal of enhancing teaching, service and research in fields that are of emerging statewide and global significance, reports OnlineAthens.com.

“Increasing the number of faculty who work across disciplinary boundaries places the university in a stronger position to attract research funding while broadening the range of expertise we offer to our students and the communities we serve,” Interim Provost Libby V. Morris stated.

Through the hiring Initiative, funding will help create collaborative opportunities in poultry health and production, digital humanities, biological imaging and brain mapping, emerging infectious deseases, housing for older adults and health policy, according to OnlineAthens.com.
