Southern Aviation Parts & Services has announced it will invest up to $17 million over the next five years to develop two locations in the Savannah area.

The general aviation services company is expected to hire up to 200 people with an average salary of $60,000 per year.

According to a report at SavannahNow.com company leaders believe the Savannah area is the perfect location for expanding their business.

“Savannah and Pooler make ideal locations for Southern Aviation Parts and Services,” said company co-founder Hoss Motlagh. “The location, the workforce, the support of the community — especially SEDA, the airport commission and the cities of Savannah and Pooler — made this a logical choice. “We’re excited to be able to tap into the talent available locally — from SCAD, Savannah State, Georgia Southern and Savannah Tech — to grow our own workforce.”

Southern Aviation Parts and Services is expected to work closely with Savannah-based Gulfstream Aerospace.
