Augusta Renewable Energy LLC is moving into the Augusta Corporate Park and using Starbucks' coffee grind waste as energy.

Augusta Renewable Energy LLC is building its first anaerobic digestion facility in Georgia and will create approximately 10 highly technical positions, announced the Augusta Chronicle.

The new facility will be in the Augusta Corporate Park and will primarily use coffee grounds from the neighboring Starbucks' plant as its main renewable-energy source, the paper stated. Construction is expected to be completed by mid to late summer of 2014.

The Starbucks plant, also located in the Augusta Corporate Park, is expected to create more than 140 jobs. The facility should be opened early 2014.
