American Textile Company has seen high demand for its products manufactured in Tifton

With product demand growing at 15% per year, American Textile Company has announced it has begun construction on an expansion at its Tifton, GA facility.

The new project will mean 400,000 square feet of manufacturing and distribution space and a target of doubling the Tifton workforce within the next five years to a total of 200 employees.

American Textile Company has four locations throughout the United States.

The Tifton facility makes pillows and other specialty bedding products.

According to a report on the website areadevelopment.com, the local employees in the Tifton area are a key reason for the decision to expand in Georgia.

"Our expansion so soon after opening is fueled in part by consumer demand for our AllerEase allergen barrier and EvenTemp temperature regulation bedding products, but also by the positive business climate we've seen in Tifton," said Lance Ruttenberg, President and CEO of Pennsylvania-based American Textile. "Access to a skilled workforce and strong county support were key factors in choosing to expand here," he added.
