The Caterpillar plant in Bogart is announcing their plans to hire an additional 100 new workers bringing their total number of employees to approximately 500 people (onlineathens.com).

Mike White, the human resources manager for the Athens plants says they are looking for qualified welders, assemblers and quality positions as they prepare to start manufacturing small tractors and add a second shift (onlineathens.com).

Caterpillar is anticipating hiring as many as 1,400 worker by 2018 and have an annual payroll of $57 million when fully operational.
