The Business and Employer Summit will be held in Cartersville and Griffin in May.

A Business and Employer Summit is being planned by the Georgia Department of Labor throughout Georgia over the next few months.

The summit is designed to aid employers, business owners, managers, hiring professionals and business leaders understand and resolve healthcare compliance challenges, unemployment insurance issues, impact of the Affordable Healthcare Act, and more.

"We took a look at the feedback from last year's summits, and have put together an agenda that addresses the needs, concerns and questions of Georgia's business professionals," said Commissioner Butler. "These summits are designed not only to provide business professionals with expert advice on issues that have a major impact on them now, but they also provide a chance to network with employers and business owners from the nearby area."

The Business and Employer Summit will be in Cartersville on Wednesday, May 7th from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Bartow-Cartersville Chamber of Commerce located at 122 W. Main Street.

It will also be held in Griffin on Thursday, May 8th from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Griffin Welcome Center located at 143 N. Hill Street.
