Following the “Warrilow Method,” I’m trying the Word writing on a separate document before copying and pasting over here on the Interwebs…

Let’s see if this way works…

This is the Week of Reckoning… on some fronts, it’s a week of determining whether or not you’ll actually BE in the third season. It could be a week that keeps you alive until next week. Or, you could be already in the playoffs, but still jockeying for positioning- making sure that you’re staying at home as long as possible…

We talk about “statements…”
Who is making statements for you this year…???

Remember, best responses make it into next week’s mailbag…

The Five Things I Know start with statements…

First thing I know… it almost looks like more of the same from Northside.

And by Northside, I’m talking about what a lot of you think of as “Northside-Warner Robins.” Kevin Kinsler’s team is taking care of business again in Region 1. Last week, they shut out county rival Houston County 21-0 to go 8-0, 5-0 in the Region. They have the other Northside, Northside-Columbus Thursday night…

Here’s how Northside took care of HoCo last week, thanks to our friends at 13WMAZ in Macon… GPB Friends Ben and Frank have the highlights…

By the way, Warner Robins and Thomas County Central square off this week to determine, probably, who the Number 2 seed is…

Second Thing I Know…
Double-A has some more heavyweight battles this week in Region 1…

This week, it’s Number 5 and Number 6- Fitzgerald and Brooks…
But how did it get to this point…???
Brooks takes care of Albany 62-27 after a close start…

WALB-TV’s Robert Hydrick has the highlights of that game and Cook’s battle with Early County…

Players To Watch:

Kaleb Nobles went over 5,000 yards passing for his career for the Purple Hurricane.
Malcolm Parrish scored five second-half touchdowns for Brooks, including four in the fourth quarter against Albany…

Third Thing I Know… Single-A Is Still Wild…

First Thing in the Third Thing… Savannah Christian took care of business…
They lost to Calvary Day 6-0 last year, but had no problems in 2011- actually leading 42-0 at the half…

It was GPB alum “The Big Guy” Frank Sulkowski’s game of the week down on the Frenzy Farm… Allen Kinzly gets to co-host…
((HT: TheCoastalSource))

Number Four Wilcox had the week off and they now get 6-2 Bacon County in the “Region of Doom…”

Coffee can clinch the Region 1-5A title with a win at home against Colquitt. Region 5, probably, gets decided with the Walton-Marietta game this week…

And Fifth-ranked Marion County survived a game against Greenville, 10-7. They now have to go against Brookstone- also 7-1…
Here’s the Cougars, and their pre-requisite McCluskey, beating Pacelli as part of their season, 49-7 two weeks ago…
Friend of GPB Sports, Dave Platta, is dressed up from the desk up…

Fourth Thing I Know… There are some teams quietly going through their gauntlets…

Example: Tucker, the top-ranked team in quad-a, has Lithonia, while region rival Marist has Mays this week- both of them are 7-1.

But East Coweta, Stephenson, and Newnan are in a three-way dance that hit some dangerous territory after last week’s last-second loss by East Coweta to Stephenson on GPB’s “Football Friday.” Since Stephenson gets MLK and Newnan and East Coweta gets Newnan and MLK, if East Coweta loses out and Westlake wins out, the Lions would win the tie-breaker in Region 2 and bump the Indians out of the playoffs entirely.

Got all that…???

Here’s last week’s game on GPB…

Fifth Thing I Know… Shameless plug time…

We get to ask ourselves “Brookwood, Where You At…?”
The answer, obviously, is at Grayson High School for the top two seeds in Region 8. Music videos aside, this has the old guard and established power in Brookwood (defending 5A champ, by the way) and the new kid in Mickey Conn’s Grayson Rams.

Pre-game is a little before 8PM on GPB-TV…

On the webside, it’s a battle for a region title with Centennial and Alpharetta…
