Region play and national holiday tournaments have certainly affected the rankings as some schools have begun dominating region play. The Parkview Lady Panthers moved up in the polls after beginning Region 8-AAAAA play 4-0. The girls AAAAA poll is quite competitive and will likely see plenty of movement all season long. Meanwhile the Norcross boys are probably hoping that region play turns its season around after an 0-4 start. The Blue Devils began last season slow as well before turning it on in region play to finish with a 17-game winning streak and a state title. Despite a recent loss, Milton remains atop the Class AAAAA boys poll though Shiloh and Wheeler are knocking at the door. Buford dominates both the boys and girls polls in Class AA though GAC is close, No. 4 in the boys poll and No. 2 in the girls poll.
