So, it was a long weekend...

But it was a fun weekend for everyone of us at GPB Sports along with our friends at Turner Productions to give you the Corky Kell Classic all day Saturday on GPB...

Some highlights...

First Thing I Know... The Kell Told Us Some Things...

Camden County, the third-ranked team in 6-A, made a statement in taking out the 8th-ranked Peachtree Ridge High School 42-0... a dominating performance... Grayson survived early on and outlasted McEachern 31-12- the game was a treat for myself and my broadcast partner, Blessed Trinity Head Coach Tim McFarlin, to see as the Rams try and go after that mythical national title. McEachern and their youth seemed to run out of gas in the fourth quarter, but you have to give head coach Kyle Hockman a lot of credit for all the prepping they did...

You can catch the Grayson game hyah... http://bcove.me/t42ekhuv

Second Thing I Know: Two State Champs Got Knocked Off...

Let's start off in Augusta... Thomson and Burke County, the defending Triple-A Champ, went at it in Waynesboro and two things may have surprised us all...

1) That the game only had a total of 35 points in it and,

2) Thomson came out on top...

Here's how it went down, thanks to our friends at WJBF-TV...

The other state champ was the reigning Single-A group in Savannah Christian who lost to Jenkins 21-20

GPB alum Frank Sulkowski over at The Coastal Source in Savannah has the look...

Third Thing I Know... Here's A Win Streak You May Not Know About...

For that we go to the GISA down in Albany... two teams had 26-game win streaks going in to their season opener in GISA-AA- Westwood and Piedmont...

WALB.com, Albany News, Weather, Sports

Now, Westwood is at 27...

Fourth Thing I Know... WaCo made a statement by taking out Eagle's Landing Christian at Commitment Field and that was only the beginning in central Georgia...

Here's the latest from our friends at WMAZ-TV in Macon...Courtney Lyle tells the tale...

Fifth Thing I Know... Blatant Promotion Time...

We have another doubleheader headed your way this Friday from McEachern- it's Hillgrove and Lassiter followed by McEachern and Walton, so you get another look at great high school running back Tyren Jones and the Raiders offense. We'll see how the Indians rebound from last week and we'll get a look at Eddie Printz- who's heading to UCLA from his QB post at Lassiter when he's done...

We'll be on the air at 7PM and we'll go until we're done... on your local GPB station

GPB.org has a great game themselves with Northside (WR) at Flowery Branch...starting at 7:30PM

So catch both games live, in-person, on the web, or on our app (How about all of them...? Now, there's an idea)

And let me know what your suprises and thoughts are from week one as we head toward week two..

Play it safe, everyone... I'll talk to you soon...
