This week’s "Football Fridays in Georgia" sets the stage for another terrific matchup as the defending 5A state champion Creekside Seminoles take on the third-ranked Jaguars of Stephenson. Creekside is 3-1 on the season, with their only loss coming at the hands of Hughes High School, 21-20. Ironically enough, 2-1 Stephenson's only loss, a one-pointer, came to nationally-ranked Miami Central by the exact same score...21-20! Both these teams are LOADED with talent and have college scouts drooling. Many players strutting their stuff this Friday night will soon be gracing fields on college football Saturdays. But for now, the high school game is still of prime focus. Stephenson is led by QB Dewann Ford, running back Ivonte Patterson, and wide receiver Dexter Neal. The Seminoles' sideline will be decorated with a talented running back in Bricen Terry and a full, hard-hitting defensive eleven. Both these teams are ranked in the top 5 in Class AAAAA and I, for one, can’t wait for kickoff. But mark your calendars. For the only time this season, the game will be tape delayed by GPB. The Ken Burns documentary, 'The Roosevelts', will air from 8pm to 10 pm, which sets our Football Fridays in Georgia broadcast back to a 10pm start. To see and hear Matt Stewart, Larry Smith, Jon Nelson and Grace Olson call the game live, please visit our website at www.gpb.org/sports. So, to sum it all up, it'll be all about two presidents and two teams this Friday night on GPB. Two squads, nearly undefeated, if not for those TWO little points... Check it out this Friday night on the great GPB!
