I know a lot of you are looking forward to seeing what Region 1-6A is going to be doing for the rest of the regular season when it comes to all of you who have interest in the 6A schools. When I was talking to Tommy Palmer the other day, he brought up this stat:

The schools in Region 1 are a combined 29-0 in non-region play heading into the donnybrook that will make up the rest of the season for them. Think about that....29-0.

Here’s the lists of teams they all beat:

Tallahassee-Lincoln
Dutchtown
Glynn Academy
Brunswick
Wayne County
Mill Creek
Hoover (AL)
Crisp County (twice- Colquitt and Lee County)
Enterprise (AL)
Pelham
Roswell
Tampa-Plant
Drew
Rockdale County
Newton
Henry County
Cook
Luella
Baldwin
Alcovy
Westover
Terrell County
Mitchell County
Brookwood
Thomas County Central
Swainsboro
Thomasville
Veterans

There are a lot of pretty stout teams in that list and this is the first time that, to my knowledge, an entire region of six or more beat all their non-region opponents heading into a region schedule. Teams like to get themselves ready in different ways for their “Second Season” as I call it. And hopefully, that translates to getting ready for their third season: the playoffs. If you look at the schedules of each team, you can see how they get ready for their business.

Now, the fun part begins in the state's hardest region and one of the most difficult in the country. Interactivity time: What do you, faithful reader, think the toughest region in the state is and why…?

Let’s now look at the week that was. Over in the Augusta area, someone got a shock, someone else put up a big number and two teams that have been flying below the radar are not doing it any longer.

Here’s the folks from “FFN” to show you what went down…

Non-region schedules are winding down, but ECI and Claxton show you that they’ll be making some noise in their respective classes. Tommy Palmer was happy about the end result of this one.

Stefanie shows you her lead and the rest of “The Frenzy” from the coast.

A little foreshadowing for next week’s “All-Access Show": Justin Rogers is doing a great job in his first year at Jones County in Gray. Coming over from Griffin, he has a signature win against Northside already this season and is making some noise in 5A. They kept it rolling against Grovetown.

Ben and Frank are in khakis to tell you the story.

Down South in 5A, Region 3 is one of the toughest around and they get to see first-hand why Ware County is one of the top-ranked teams in the state. Franklin Stephens and the Gators had a region match-up against Bradwell Institute.
Chris and Cush have the look about the 9:30 mark.
