As noted a few weeks ago, in our first installment of “year of the quarterbacks,” we profiled Colquitt County’s Jay Saunders. In Moultrie, we caught up with Jay about the responsibilities he will inherit as the new quarterback for the defending champs.

This is the second part of that interview.

The Packers don’t have it easy this season- their schedule proves to be pretty tough. They are set to open the season on the road against Mill Creek (who they defeated in the semifinals, which advanced them to the state championship game at the Georgia Dome). We spoke with Jay about the challenges of this season’s schedule, and also, how he stays busy in the offseason, which means more than football.

He’s a dual-athlete playing baseball in the spring, but he finds a way to juggle it all.

The Packers also made a lot of staff changes this year, including hiring a new Offensive Coordinator- Jeff Hammond… here’s what Jay had to say about getting to work with him, and much more.
