Right on the heels of Apple’s announcement of the new iPad mini, Scholastic is making it known that it has a new digital library just for classroom teachers available for tablets. It’s called Storia.

What makes Storia unique is that classroom teachers can create a digital library that supports their curriculum from a collection curated by reading experts. Teachers can then send their students books to read to their digital devices. Storia allows teachers to track students’ progress. The software tabulates what books students have read, the length of time the student has read and how many pages they have turned. It also offers quizzes, sequencing and vocabulary activities.

If you download Storia, you can get five free e-books. It includes Clifford the Big Red dog one of the stars of GPB Kids. Take a test drive of Storia and let us know what you think and what books you are building your library with.
