Georgia Outdoors and Georgia Public Broadcasting are excited to announce the Sixth Annual Georgia Outdoors Nature Photography Contest. The Georgia Outdoors Nature Photography Contest is a competition intended to solicit outstanding examples of amateur photography that utilize the great outdoors as the photographer's canvas.

Nature Photography Contest Image Rules

Images submitted must have been photographed in Georgia. Images submitted can include any subject(s) photographed in the outdoors, including images of landscapes, plant life, wildlife, pets, people, and incidental man-made outdoor structures such as canoes and duck blinds. Discovery of any apparent cruel and/or unethical practices used to obtain an image will disqualify the submission. Digital manipulations are not eligible.

Regulations

The Sixth Annual Georgia Outdoors Nature Photography Contest will begin accepting entries on October 26, 2007. Images must be received by January 31, 2008. Photographers may submit as many images as they would like for duration of the contest, however all entries submitted become the property of Georgia Public Broadcasting and will not be returned. By entering the contest each entrant gives Georgia Public Broadcasting permission to use any entry for publicity purposes, but entrants will retain copyright(s) to their submission(s).

Prize Selection

The prizewinners will be selected from all entries submitted. The eligibility and selection of the winners will be determined by the contest judges, whose decision is final.

Eligibility

The Georgia Outdoors Nature Photography Contest is open to amateur photographers only. For the purposes of this contest amateur is defined as receiving no percentage of one's income from photography. Winners may be asked to submit an affidavit of eligibility. Failure to adhere to this rule may result in disqualification. Employees, board members, and relatives of Georgia Public Broadcasting and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources are not eligible for this contest. Previous winner(s) of this contest are not eligible. Grand Prize Winner must be available to participate in a one-day production of a Georgia Outdoors episode between February 15 and March 30, 2008.

Submission Requirements

Submissions must be color or black & white prints no larger than 8" X 10" and do not have to be matted. Matted prints will be accepted but are discouraged. NO GLASS OR FRAMED IMAGES WILL BE ACCEPTED. Slides will not be accepted. Images may not be submitted in digital form. All prints become the property of Georgia Public Broadcasting and will not be returned.
