After lengthy debate, the House today passed the bill that revises funding for the HOPE scholarship and the pre-K program. HB 326, which has bi-partisan support as well as support from governor Nathan Deal, will cover 90% of HOPE scholars’ tuition fees and creates a full-ride Zell Miller scholarship for students who achieve a 3.3 GPA.
The governor also wants to cut two hours per day of instruction from the pre-K program. HB 326 now moves to the Senate.
