Tybee Island had an unexpected visitor on its beach earlier this week... a nine foot 300 pound alligator.

A trapper with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources caught it before it hurt anyone.

He said it was the largest gator he’s seen on the island in eight years and what a rare sight. The island’s track record… just five alligators captured in the last 20 years.
