About 2,200 workers have returned to their jobs at Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah.

The private jet manufacturer had put its employees on unpaid leave in late June in the effort to slow production in the weakened economy. Last week, 700 workers were back on the job after a four-week furlough. On Monday, 1,500 workers returned to their jobs following five-weeks of downtime.

Gulfstream is Savannah’s largest private employer.
