U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss is under fire for his comments on gays serving in the military. Even some conservatives say he is out of touch.

Chambliss told the Senate Armed Services Committee this week he thinks the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy should continue. He says allowing gays to openly serve in the armed forces could lead to other rules being broken.

Jason Pye, 29, writes for the conservative blog Peach Pundit, where most of the comments were critical of Chambliss' stance.

Pye says he's out of touch with young people.

"My generation is much more tolerant of homosexuality, basically living and let living. Letting people do what they want to do as long as they're not hurting someone else."

Chambliss is attending the U.N. Security Council meeting in Munich and was unavailable for comment, but he told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution he stands by his comments.
