A lawsuit filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Monday accuses a Columbus window company of firing an employee because of his age.

EEOC filed the suit in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia on behalf of Ronald Henderson. The suit claims that a manager at Champion Window issued an order that Henderson be replaced with "someone young and energetic."

Henderson was fired from his position as an installation manager in March 2009.

Champion Window is an affiliate of Champion Window Manufacturing and Supply Company, with offices in Cincinnati.

A spokeswoman for the company did not immediately return a phone call Monday afternoon.
