Saturday's state volleyball finals plan to give high school sports fans plenty of excitement.

In Class 5A, Walton looks to get back in the winner's circle for the first time since 2002, when the Raiders won the last of five consecutive state titles. They will be opposed by Northview, who won state gold in 2007 and 2008.

Last year's 5A champion, Pope, is now in Class 4A and will face Chattahoochee in the final. The Cougars have never won the state championship.

Woodward Academy has dominated state volleyball in recent years, winning nine state titles in two different classifications since 1993. They will try to win their 10th Saturday against Marist, who has won six, in the Class 3A final.

In Class 2A/A, Blessed Trinity looks for their first state championship against perennial-power Athens Academy, winners of the 2002 title.
