Well, it's all over for now. The state football finals took place over the weekend at the Georgia Dome and the state championships have been decided. Therefore, high school football in Georgia is done for the rest of the year and the final rankings are in. For the first time since the start of the playoffs, there is a new set of rankings.

Some interesting notes on the rankings: in Class AAAA, the No. 1 and No. 2 teams going into the postseason, Northside-Warner Robins and Clarke Central, are nowhere to be found in the top 10. And, as you may expect, all five No. 1's are the five state champions from each class. However, one No. 2 team did not play in the state finals: ELCA of Class A finished No. 2 in the state despite being eliminated in the semifinals by eventual state champion Clinch County.
