Despite hopes a new car plant just over the Tennessee border would bring jobs to Georgia, that apparently hasn’t happened.

People in North Georgia thought Volkswagen’s Chattanooga plant would bring jobs to the area, according to Dalton’s Daily Citizen.

But so far, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that out of the 1,300 employees hired to work at the plant, none of them are from Georgia.

Volkswagen receives almost $600 million in tax breaks from Tennessee and hires many employees from that state.
