Gas prices are up about 3 cents over the past week, to a current average of $3.01 for a gallon of regular unleaded.

Over a month’s time, the AAA Fuel Gauge Report shows the current mark is relatively unchanged.

Georgia’s mark is 11 cents cheaper than the national price, currently $3.12 a gallon average. But over the past year, drivers in the state are paying 48 cents more per gallon.

Many industry analysts expect gasoline prices to continue to creep up, given unrest in Egypt and elsewhere in the middle East.
