Savannah retailers will be allowed to sell alcohol this Sunday. City Council members approved changes to the city's alcohol ordinance on Thursday. Sixty-percent of Savannah voters approved the change last month. Retailers can sell alcohol from 12:30p.m. to 11:30p.m. The council made the change effective immediately, though it's unclear how many retailers will open this Sunday. State law forbids sales of liquor -- but not beer or wine -- on Christmas, which this year falls on Sunday.
