A 10-year-old Warner Robins boy who spent more than two days dodging police cars, officers and volunteers before he was found has apologized to his school in writing.

Principal Keith Lauritsen said Kit Colburn may deliver the apology over Russell Elementary School's public announcement system or it may be distributed to students. Or the fifth-grader could make an apology at a Warner Robins City Council meeting.

Colburn disappeared from school after being sent to the principal's office and hid out of fear. He wrote in the letter he is "very sorry I made that choice and want all my fellow students to know it was wrong."

School officials decided Colburn would not return to school until next year, when he starts middle school.
