Fulton County election officials are planning to meet amid criticism of their handling of the vote count from last Tuesday's election.

Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp said he was concerned about what he called "numerous and substantial issues" surrounding the administration of the election in the metro Atlanta county. Kemp said he was more concerned about what he termed a lack of communication from local voting officials.

Fulton County officials were scheduled to certify the results of the election by noon Saturday. That deadline has come and gone.

County authorities said some delays were caused by the process of counting early ballots, or votes that were cast before election day.
