Federal labor officials have cited a Flowery Branch company with 19 safety and health violations following an accident that killed an employee.

30-year-old Adam Wingo died after the March 3 accident at Koswire, a Korean manufacturer of wires and cables.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration said Wingo became caught in moving wire and was pulled into rotating rolls. OSHA said the accident was preventable.

The citations carry $145,530 in proposed penalties. The company has 15 business days from receipt of the citations to comply, request a conference with OSHA's regional director or contest the citations and penalties.

The Flowery Branch office of the company could not immediately be reached for comment Monday.
