A post office located in Albany's federal courthouse will be closing, a decision that locals worry will hurt downtown business.

The post office will close when the lease on the branch expires on Dec. 2.

Critics say that decision will be bad for the downtown.

Johnny Williams, who shines shoes near the office, said he wants residents to lobby officials to keep the postal office open. He said the flow of patrons into the post office helped generate businesses at other stores.
