A former Navy recruit has been charged in connection with a militia group that Georgia prosecutors say plotted terrorist attacks while members operated inside the U.S. military.

District Attorney Tom Durden of southeast Georgia's Atlantic Judicial Circuit said Wednesday that 27-year-old Jeffrey Wayne Roberts of Savannah is the 11th person charged in the case. Authorities say the group was led by Army soldiers from Fort Stewart.

The Bryan County indictment charges Roberts with illegal gang activity including possession of cocaine, marijuana and ecstasy.

Durden says Roberts wasn't involved in the December slayings of former soldier Michael Roark and his girlfriend, Tiffany York, whose killings brought the militia case to light.

Navy records show Roberts served about a year as an airman recruit. It was unknown if he had an attorney.
