Next week Chatham County voters will choose a new school board president. Jolene Byrne and Chester Ellis are facing off in Tuesday’s runoff election. Both candidates spoke to GPB’s Emily Jones about the challenges schools face in a district where many students come from low-income families.

In our first of two conversations, we hear today from Chester Ellis. He says the district can’t rely on one-size-fits-all solutions.
