Appling County and Pierce County were finally able to settle the Class AA baseball championship as the Pirates won Game 3 and the state title, while Providence Christian and Charlton County split two games.

Five Georgia school districts are hoping to regain full accreditation before a deadline that could trigger state hearings. Board members in districts that don’t receive full accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools by July 1st could be stripped of their posts.
