The Healthcare Ethics Consortium (HEC), in collaboration with Emory's Center for Ethics and The Primary Care Consortium at Emory's School of Medicine, and Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB), presents the screening and discussion of the documentary film The Only Doctor

By witnessing what can be accomplished by compassion and determination, we hope this program encourages participants to consider the power of community engagement and collaboration to address some of the most troubling health equity issues faced by rural communities. Ultimately, what can we learn from Dr. Kinsell’s experience and treatment of patients in Clay County, Georgia, and how can we integrate those lessons into how we think about and deliver care as community members, students, and health care professionals? The panel following the screening will explore broader questions of health access and invite further reflections by Dr. Kinsell and the filmmaker on healthcare availability in rural areas.

The event will take place on Wednesday, February 26 at 5:30 p.m.  Learn more about the event here.
