My bus tour ended Thursday. But here's an update from the road of what I experienced.
Updated as of October 26, 2011 Great partnership examples happening throughout Georgia at all levels - elementary, middle and high school. The GPEE bus riders on the 19th Annual Bus Trip Across Georgia have received amazing welcomes by students, teachers and the community. We've seen exciting, effective and unique responses to educational needs of the community. We started the trip visiting Lake Oconee Academy in Greene County and have seen 5 additional schools since beginning the three day trip. Learn more about these schools working to change culture, build community and reach excellence: Oak Hill Middle School , Langston Chapel Elementary, Claxton Middle School, Taylors Creek Elementary School.
It's all about partnerships this week - statewide and local - and the story begins with a statewide partnership that is so passionate about collaborative work, it has partnership in its name! Get on the bus with me this week as GPB journeys with the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education through eastern and southeastern Georgia on its 19th Annual Bus Trip Across Georgia to learn more about local schools in Georgia and how these schools and communities are working together in partnership to encourage innovation, strong communities and a strong future.
This year's theme is "Georgia's Public Schools: Changing Culture, Building Community, and Reaching Excellence." Business, non-profit, community, and education leaders from across the state will be rolling into eight local communities from Greensboro to Waycross and points in between to meet local school, student, and community leaders to learn about innovative approaches that are making a lasting impact.
Ride along with us here and get inspired by following the Passion for Learning blog, friend GPB Education and GPEE on Facebook, and follow the news coverage through the Southern Education Desk
Let us know what questions you have of these communities and we'll share what we learn on the journey!
