PBS KIDS Measure Up! is a fun and engaging tool that helps preschoolers learn important math skills. This free app is ideal for children ages 3-5 and is available on iPad and Android tablets. It even has a companion app for parents called PBS KIDS Super Vision that can be downloaded on iPhone, iPod touch, and Android mobile devices.

Children explore concepts of length, width, capacity, and weight through a combination of games, videos, and activities with popular PBS KIDS’ series like Dinosaur Train, Peg + Cat, and Sid the Science Kid. Parents can use the companion app for updates on their child’s progress and also receive information about related activities that support concept mastery.

“Given the overwhelming number of apps available, it’s often difficult for parents to find great educational content for their kids,” says Sara DeWitt, Vice President, PBS KIDS Digital. “PBS KIDS Measure Up! not only helps build math skills in a fun learning environment, it also lets parents track the skills in which their kids excel, and the skills where they may need more practice.”

Features for both PBS KIDS Measure Up! and PBS KIDS Super Vision include:

  • 19 games
  • videos
  • sticker books
  • rewards and surprises
  • reports to parents about their child’s progress
  • tips and recommended activities to continue learning

Teachers, a free measurement-themed iBook is also available through iTunes. Measurement: An Instructional Sequence iBook is full of standards-aligned lesson plans about measurement and professional development resources.
