Georgia Museums Offer Free Admission On Museum Day

In celebration of Museum Day, many museums across the country will be open for free on Saturday, September 21.
Museum Day is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. The Museum Day ticket provides free admission for two people on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
Visitors can download tickets to any of the 1,300 participating museums—including 38 in Georgia—by going to the Museum Day website.
Some of Georgia’s participating museums include Marietta’s Gone with the Wind Museum, the Augusta Museum of History, Barrington Hall in Roswell, the Crawford W. Long Museum in Jefferson, and Georgia’s Old Governor’s Mansion in Milledgeville.

A select number of museums celebrating Museum Day are free every day, including the Georgia Museum of Art in Athens, the Patch Works Art & History Center in Atlanta, the David J. Sender CDC Museum in Atlanta, and the Moore Methodist Museum in St. Simons.
