GPB Education Announces The 2020 PBS KIDS Writers Contest Winners
Primary Content

GPB Education is thrilled to announce this year's PBS KIDS Writers Contest winners! These winners were among hundreds of K-3 students in Georgia who participated in the 2020 PBS KIDS Writers Contest. Students submitted original, illustrated stories for the chance to win great prizes and be featured on GPB's website.
A first, second, and third place winner was selected for each grade. Each grade level also had a STEAM winner--ones that best incorporated science, technology, engineering, arts, or mathematics.
While the awards ceremony is usually hosted at GPB's headquarters in Atlanta, a virtual ceremony was held on Saturday, June 27, due to ongoing concerns surrounding COVID-19. During the virtual ceremony, winners and their families enjoyed a special story from storyteller Mama Koku, and celebrated each other during the awards presentation.
