PBS Digital Series 'Monstrum' Explores Monsters, Myths, And Legends
Primary Content
The world is full of monsters, myths, and legends and Monstrum isn’t afraid to take a closer look. The show, hosted by Emily Zarka, Ph.D. and produced by PBS Digital Studies, takes us on a journey to discover a new monster for each new episode. Monstrum looks at humans' unique drive to create and shape monster mythology through oral storytelling, literature, and film.
Monster history is human history. Episode topics include Frankenstein's monster, Medusa, the origins of the zombie, and more. This series offers the perfect way to weave in Halloween themes in a history or literature classroom.
