Just because school is out doesn't mean learning stops! Summer is the perfect time to explore a new place, try a new food, or do a new activity. To help your learner gain new experiences, we've gathered a list of fun things to try before the new school year.

1. Explore a new place...through reading!
Can't physically go somewhere new this summer? Not to worry! Use this collection of picture books to spark imagination and learn about a new place.

2. Make a yummy treat
With the help of the Georgia Department of Education's School Nutrition Program, learn about the various foods grown in Georgia. Then, try one of the simple recipes included in the videos. From sweet potatoes to peaches, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

3. Create your own coil pot
In this new episode of Camp GPB, join New South Associates to learn about Georgia's Native Americans and how they used coil pots in everyday life. Then, make and decorate your own coil pot!

4. Make homemade slime
You and your child can transform a few ingredients into an ooey-gooey creation – called gak, flubber, gluep, glurch or slime — with this sensory craft.

5. Play Gasha Go! Games
GPB's two Gasha Go! games engage K-3 learners in math and computer science tasks. Children have to use their problem-solving skills to advance to each level.

6. Have fun with water!
The North Georgia Metropolitan District and their puppet friend Allie Toona join Camp GPB to help kids understand where our water comes from and where our water goes. This new episode includes three different activities for kids to try this summer.

7. Take a virtual tour of Georgia landmarks
Explore some of Georgia's most unique sites with our collection of free virtual reality videos. Hear a performance by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, ride a tractor in a peanut field, go on a boat through the Okefenokee Swamp, and more!

8. Play biodiversity bingo
Go on a scavenger hunt and see what you find with this biodiversity bingo activity and video! Available in English and Spanish.

9. Examine the earth's water
There's a lot of water available on Earth, but how much can actually be used for human consumption? In this episode of Camp GPB, Athens-Clarke County Public Utilities Department shares a fun demonstration to visualize saltwater versus freshwater and how much of that water is accessible for people to drink.
