Georgia Public Broadcasting has launched "Instrument Quest," a four-episode digital series developed in collaboration with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Georgia Department of Education.

Each episode highlights a different section of an orchestra: strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. The series is hosted by Sarah Zaslaw, the Music Director of GPB Classical, and features talented teen musicians from the Atlanta area.

Designed for elementary students, "Instrument Quest" introduces a variety of instruments and their sounds to young learners. Kids can learn about the history of an instrument, uncover how it produces sound, and hear selected pieces performed by high school students.

"When elementary students have the choice to take band or orchestra, they may be unfamiliar with all the different kinds of instruments out there," says Laura Evans, Vice President of Education at GPB. "'Instrument Quest' is a great way to give kids a well-rounded introduction to the four different instrument families and to explore 16 different musical instruments."

"Instrument Quest" is available on gpb.org/instrument-quest and on GPB Education's YouTube channel
