Bright By Text is now Lantern

Are you expecting or do you have a young child in your life? Then Lantern (formerly Bright by Text), a free text messaging service for parents & caregivers, is for you! Lantern is made available to you through GPB's partnership with United Way of Greater Atlanta's Learning Spaces. 

This service is for parents and adults who care for children ages 0-11. When you register for the service by sharing your due date or child's birthdate, zip code, and language preference, direct text messages will provide developmentally appropriate information, activities, and more from trusted national and local resources.

Lantern partners with healthcare, early childhood, and non-profit organizations, as well as local and state agencies, who all work to create the messages that are sent out. Texts will offer information on early literacy, developmental tips, playful learning ideas, and family events in your area. URLs link users to more in-depth information. Users will receive no more than four messages per week per registered child and can opt out at any time.

Service is available in English and in Spanish. To get started, text the code word GPB to 274448, or sign up online.
