Your State Parks Day Reminds Us That Georgia’s State Parks & Historic Sites Provide Great Family Getaways
Primary Content
Georgia is known for its incredible state park system, and recently GPB took part in “Your State Parks Day.” The statewide event was sponsored by the Friends of Georgia State Parks &
Historic Sites, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Georgia’s state parks and historic Sites.
The celebration brought attention to the ways that parks enrich communities by providing opportunities for camping,
hiking, fishing, boating, geocaching, picnicking, golf and numerous other activities. The event also included numerous volunteer projects and family-friendly programs.
Check out this video of the “Your State Parks Day” activities at Fort Yargo State Park in Winder, and remember that Georgia’s State Parks and Historic Sites provide great options for family getaways.
