Enjoy Championship Weekend
This is it. The Night of nights. Its Championship weekend on GPB.
And it will be outstanding.
We kick things off on Friday with the Class AA game. A battle of unbeatens
as Buford takes on Calhoun. The Buford Wolves can make history. They are going
for a record setting fifth straight championship. West Rome won four in a row.
The Wolves drive for five will take place starting at 4:30
In the nightcap, another battle of unbeatens as the Tucker Tigers collide
with the Wildcats of Lovejoy. Tucker is a high octane offense. The can light
up a scoreboard. Lovejoy is known as a hard hitting defense first kind of team.
Should make for a great matchup.
On Saturday, its Savannah Christian taking on Landmark Christian. The Raiders
are making their third straight trip to the finals. They hope this is their year.
The War Eagles are 12-2 this year and coming off a big upset of Eagles Landing Christian.
They have played 7 straight games on the road, and won them all, but Savannah will
have the Dome field advantage having played there the last two years.
In Class AAAA a matchup of 13-1 teams. Burke County has scored over 50 points
in 6 games and can really pile on the points. Peach County suffered some big time
injuries to key players early in the year, and have re-focused, re-built, and re-grouped
and have made it to the championship game.
In Class AAAAA its a battle of titans. Unbeaten. Unbowed. Tough.
The Walton Raiders are 14-0. They have terrific offensive players like
running back Tyren Jones and a great defense. Grayson, is 14-0, ranked number
2 in the polls. The Rams also are solid on both sides of the ball, led by
their standout player, Robert Nkemdiche who plays on both sides of the ball.
Number 1 is an outstanding defensive lineman, and also is a powerful runner
at fullback.
All five games will be great. Tune in and enjoy the very best of high
school football, exclusively on the great, GPB.
