Galloway's Friedman Continues Torrid Pace

Reilly Friedman, of Class A No. 3 Galloway, won the varsity blue race at the Aubrae Gunderson Invitational at Heritage-Conyers Saturday. Friedman's Gaels came in sixth as a team, while Class A No. 1 Athens Academy won the meet and Class AA No. 1 Westminster came in second. It is Friedman's second win of the season (the first was at the Clara Bowl), while he also has two second-place finishes to his credit.
In the boys varsity red race, Southwest DeKalb's Jacques Williams won the race and his team finished eighth. Behind winner Winder-Barrow was Rockdale County in second and Mountain View at No. 3.
Class AAAAA No. 1 McIntosh came in second in the varsity white race as Brad Hort and Sidney Speir finished 1-2 for the Chiefs. Class AAAAA No. 5 Flowery Branch won the race behind six harriers in the top 27 and seven in the top 31.
In the girls blue race, Class AAAA No. 2 Alexander won as Brittany Truitt finished second and four other Cougars came in the top nine.
Winder-Barrow won the girls red race while Class AAAAAA No. 4 Brookwood came in second and Mountain View finished third.
Sarah Bowles of Lakeside-Evans won the girls varsity white race, edging out Jennifer Cora of Lakeside-DeKalb. Class AA No. 1 Westminster won the race, as 10 Wildcats finished in the top 33.
