The teams ranked atop each of the classifications all stayed on top for at least one more week as each program earned traditional area titles over the weekend. Class AAAAA No. 1 Pope and AAAAAA No. 1 Archer cruised, as did AAAA No. 1 Gilmer. Class AAA No. 1 Banks County managed to hold off No. 3 Oconee County for the Area 4-AAA title while Buford moved up to No. 8 after finishing third. In AAAAA, Flowery Branch moved up to No. 5 after beating out No. 8 Loganville for the Area 8-AAAAA crown. In AA, No. 1 Jefferson was victorious over No. 6 Greater Atlanta Christian while Class A No. 1 Gordon Lee also earned an area title. Darlington moved up to No. 7 in Class A based on a strong showing.

The newest name in Class AAAAAA is Area 4-AAAAAA champion Kennesaw Mountain, who moved up to No. 5 after edging past Hillgrove for the title.
