One last time…

Hard to say and hard to believe…

A 17 week high school football season has come and gone and there’s a lot to remember…

For us at Georgia Public Broadcasting, it was one of our best weekends for on-air product. With your help, we experienced a lot of growth on all of our social media platforms- Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. And all of our viewership made us the highest-rated PBS station in the country…

We have you to thank for that…and we look forward to continuing to grow our high school product along with you…

We can’t thank you enough…

So, tell us your stories from the weekend on all platforms and share your experiences with us…

Let’s go back through…

Single-A:

Aquinas and 26-year-old head coach James Leonard (a school legacy) took his team to a perfect season and a win over Calvary Day… Frank and Stefanie have the look

((HT: The CoastalSource))

And Marion County won their first-ever state title in a win over Charlton County for the public crown

((HT: WRBL-TV))

WRBL

Double-A:

Lamar County and Lovett…two class coaches went at it and Lovett came out on top in a nailbiter…

Triple-A:

Buford appeared in their 7th straight title game, winning their 6th in that time over Joel Ingram and Washington County…

Marv and Wes were there…

((HT: 13WMAZ-TV))

Quad-A:

One of the best match-ups of the weekend set a record for points in a game for a championship game- regardless of class when Griffin won their first title in 35 years over Carrollton

Kelin Johnson and I had the call- and it was a blast…

Five-A:

One of the more emotional stories that we covered this year at “Football Fridays” was the story of Creekside “Doing it for Deuce”- De’Antre Turman… Turman passed from an injury on an on-field hit in the pre-season and the Creekside community dedicated their season to his memory.

First-year head coach Olten Downs put up a season for the ages and the Noles go home with the title in a win over Tucker…

Here’s your look…

((HT: 11Alive.com))

And in 6A, it was a rematch in Region 7 with Norcross and North Gwinnett…

Two stout teams and two class coaches…

I’m just going to step aside so you can watch…

So, what will you take with you from the season…???

Let us know here and keep telling us your stories…

Just because it’s the end of football season doesn’t mean that the sporting world stops…

It’s basketball region play, National Signing Day, and spring practice…

Thanks for being a part of the discussion with us this year…

We couldn’t have done it without you…

Play it safe, everyone… I’ll see you after the holidays…
