I’m going to go a little off script this week…

First, and foremost, I just hope everyone on the coast is okay after Hurricane Matthew made his presence known all weekend long up the east coast of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas…

Having friends who were displaced, knowing families that were displaced, and having the safety function on social media kick in isn’t really a way we all should be living on a weekend. But, the fact that particular social media activity HAS the safety check-in function made me feel a lot better when it came to knowing where everyone was.

As a result, there are a few changes to the “Football Fridays in Georgia” schedule… we were supposed to be in Moultrie for the Camden County- Colquitt match-up. But because of all the trickle-down aspects of the hurricane, we will now be doing the Archer-Grayson game this Friday night. The visit to Moultrie has been pushed back to the Lowndes game on the 28th. We are looking at a few ideas for the game now on the 21st, and we’ll let you know when we know. Follow us on all our social media platforms if you don’t already to stay as up to date as we can be on the situation…

Around the state, when sports people are turned into news people, it’s an extraordinary situation…
