Okay…

Let’s start with the stunner of stunners… the fact that the (probable) 2-time Player of the Year in the state, Houston County QB Jake Fromm is thinking more about wrapping up his school work and heading to Athens more than he’s thinking about a playoff run for the Houston County Bears.

Math caught up with them in Region 1-6A (and I STILL want a mix of Region 1-6A and 1-7A for region 1-6 and a half-A by the way) and they’re not in the playoffs after a region loss to region champ Valdosta. At 7-3, they’re not around- and that’s an outright shame…
Michael Lough, from the Macon Telegraph, caught up with him after the game…

I tried to do some math once the final region standings were sent out… 26 teams made the playoffs this year with records below .500… That’s more than a classification on its own (26 out of 240)…

So, that’s this week’s question for social media and for the bottom of the page: What do you think about reclassification and the playoffs this season…??? And, second, what match-up is the most intriguing for this first round of the playoffs…???

Respond on social media on GPB Sports’ Facebook page, on Twitter @GPBSports or on my Twitter feed at @OSGNelson, or comment at the bottom of the page and let me know what you’re thinking on this two-way street…

To the rest of the state, now and the last week of the regular season…
